I Matter Relationship Health Fundamentals and Level 1 Training Options


The I Matter Framework provides a foundation for a relationship health approach which can be applied to many different targetted issues.

In association with certified practitioners we run a range of I Matter Fundamentals groups focussing on different issues.

The course takes the basic I Matter Fundamentals and explores the applications to the given focus topic,


Helping Adolescents and Young Adults with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach

This course application is for parents and carers of adolescents and young adults to help develop an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to make sense of how to support the emotional wellbeing of this age group.

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be in relationship with adolescents and other adults, and how an effective relationship can help them to support their emotional development.


Helping Your Primary Years Child with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach


This course application is for parents and carers of primary age children to develop an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to make sense of how to support the emotional wellbeing of this age group.

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be in relationship with primary age children and other adults, and how an effective relationship can help them to support their emotional development.




Helping Your Baby and Toddler with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach


This course application is for parents and carers of babies, toddlers and young children to help develop an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to make sense of how to support the emotional wellbeing of this age group.

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be in relationship with the children and other adults, and how an effective relationship can help them to support their emotional development.




Moving on with Anxiety and Depression with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach

This course application is for adults who want to understand more about anxiety and/or depression across the lifespan with aim to develop an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to make sense of how to prevent challenges and effectively support progress

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be make sense of anxiety and depression including an understanding how progressing of effective relationships can be key to finding the way forward.





Moving on with Challenging Situtations with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach

This course application is for adults who want to understand more about challenging situations in relationships across the lifespan. The focus will be on building an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to effectively prevent challenges and support progress

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be make sense of challenging situations and understand how progressing effective relationships can be key to finding the way forward.





Moving forward with AuDHD ++ with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach

This course application is for adults who have, a diagnosis or are exploring a diagnosis of autism, adhd, odd or other disorders listed in DSMV for themselves or others with aim to develop an understanding of how to use the I Matter Framework to effectively build confidence and support progress

It will provide you with practical concepts and skills helping you understand how to be make sense of some common elements in a full range of listed disorders and understand how progressing effective relationships can be key to finding the way forward.

These courses are offered to young people who want to learn how to help themselves with an I Matter Relationship Health Approach and where there is also active support of an adult who is actively involved and ready to learn.

Course Outcomes

Successful completion of a Level 1 course offers you a certificate in the specific issue that was discussed.

By the end of the course you will be equipped with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to take a practical approach to progressing an I Matter Relationship Health approach in your setting to support the wellbeing of yourself and those you care for. You will be able to use the I Matter Framework as a daily practical approach to support yourself and the skills for relationship health for yourself and all family members.

Who is it for?

Study of an I Matter Relationship Health approach series is ideal for any individual or parent or carer who wants to develop their own confidence and skills in relation to a challenging situation.

Suitable for adults, young adults, parents, step parents, grandparents who are actively involved in the caring role

No previous qualifications are required.


What you'll learn

During the live online sessions, you'll explore:

  • The I Matter Framework and a relationship health approach to improving adult and child wellbeing
  • The connection between relationship health and wellbeing and behaviour
  • How to develop a team based whole-setting approach that supports the wellbeing of adults so they can support social and emotional health of all babies, toddlers and young children
  • A framework for understanding the development of skills for relationship health
  • How to build skills for relationship health in your everyday interactions with babies, toddlers and young children
  • using the I Matter assessment checklists to provide an easy overview of the progression of skills.
  • Hos to plan and develop specific strategies and activities that support the wellbeing and relationship skills development of all babies, toddlers and young children in your setting
  • Incorporating strategies and activities into your everyday routines and structures
  • How to evidence the progress of children and demonstrate impact of your apprah
  • The role of I Matter Early Years Licensed Practitioners and how to support them effectively


Course structure

The course is structured into five virtual training sessions, each 75 mins long. There is online preparation to complete before each session.
